Sebi investigated 154 cases last fiscal

Market regulator Sebi took up 154 cases for investigations in the last fiscal, higher than 104 cases probed in 2010-11 period, according to latest data.The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) in a statement today said it took up 154 cases for probe in 2011-12. During the last fiscal, it completed 74 cases.In the last three financial years, the number of cases investigated by Sebi has been on the rise.The total number of cases taken up for investigations stood at 104 in 2010-11. This was higher than 71 cases probed in 2009-10.As per the data, the market regulator completed 82 cases in 2010-11 and in the prior financial year, it had completed 74 cases.Out of the 74 cases completed last fiscal, 70 were done during the October-March period, Sebi said.
