Sebi penalises 6 firms for failing to get SCORES registration

Markets regulator Sebi today slapped penalties totalling Rs 9.5000000 on six firms for their failure to get registered with the regulator's online complaint redressal system.Alps Motor Finance , Dr M Soy General Foods , Geefcee Finance, Burr Brown India, Balaji Steel Tubes and Pipes and Bajwa Agro Industries are the firms that have been penalised by the regulator.All these entities failed to get registered with Securities and Exchange Board of India's (Sebi) SCORES within the mandated timeframe.Through six separate but similarly-worded orders, the regulator slapped a penalty of Rs 200000 each on Alps Motor Finance, Soy Proteins, Burr Brown India and Balaji Steel Tubes and Pipes.While a fine of Rs 50,000 was imposed on Geefcee Finance, Bajwa Agro Industries was penalised with an amount of Rs 100000.As per Sebi norms, all listed companies are required to get SCORES authentication, otherwise they would face enforcement action.Launched in June 2011, SCORES is a centralised platform that provides details about all investor complaints against listed companies and action taken by the firms concerned.
